Finally Back working on Spry!

Cannot believe over a year has gone by since we worked on the boat! So much has happened in our personal life's not all having to do with getting on the water. However, that being said we worked on the dream somewhat.  This past May we had the most amazing adventure sailing in Tahiti! Not necessarily on our bucket list but definitely an adventure. We traveled to the main island of Tahiti, visited and toured a few islands before meeting up with our crew in Raitea to embark on a 11 day tour sailing a  44' Catamaran to some of the more popular islands of Tahiti including Bora Bora!  What a way to feed the dream of sailing off to distant islands by actually doing it for a short time!

Back on dry land we are more motivated then ever to get our girl Spry into the water.  Jim started back on epoxying her hull and as he says " We are
painfully close to a primer coat"  He also removed some of the weather worn teak on the outside of the cabin sides and replaced them with mahogany as we have so much of it in our barn, its a no brainer to use this very comparable wood  as a filler. He also used a waterproofing around the cabin top. So many next's on the list of to dos that we are sorting out what will happen next. We are planning on taping of the wood rail above the hull and treating it with Seatol before we prime just to protect the wood in case any paint happened to touch it. We really do not want that to happen though.
